Will it fit my dog?

Fit is by chest measurement, not breed. Tape around the widest part of the ribcage behind the front legs. XS 12–15 in, S 15–20, M 20–26, L 26–33, XL 33–42. Full chart on the size guide.

Can my dog already swim? Does he need it?

Depends on the dog, and the honest answer is not always flattering. Flat-faced breeds like French Bulldogs and Pugs cannot keep their muzzle clear unaided. Long-backed breeds tire fast. Strong swimmers overreach and struggle on the way back. We wrote 24 breed guides saying which is which.

What does the chin float actually do?

A foam pad under the jaw holds the muzzle above the water line instead of letting the head drop. Most vests keep a dog floating. Fewer keep his head up, and the head is the part that matters.

Is the lift figure real?

Yes, and it is tested wet. Closed-cell foam does not absorb water, so the number on the label is the number in the water rather than a dry-lab figure that fades halfway through a swim.

Can I lift him by the handle?

That is what it is for. The spine handle is stitched along the back and built to take a soaked dog out of a pool or back into a boat one-handed. It is not a walking harness and it is not a restraint.

What if I order the wrong size?

Free swap for 90 days, one per order. If you simply do not want it, 30 days money back in resaleable condition. Swum in and dried is fine.

Do the bundle prices need a code?

No. Two vests is $79.99 and three is $109.99, applied automatically at checkout. Sizes do not have to match.

Does this make my dog safe in water?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. It is a buoyancy aid. It helps keep his head above the water and it makes him easier to get out. It does not prevent drowning and it does not replace you watching him.
